VIMwatch: 2011 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Ladies

Not only did the hilarious Emma Stone walk away last night a winner (for Best Comedy--Easy A) but she absolutely stunned on the red carpet. Stone wore a gorgeous, mesh Balenciaga halter dress. It can't be easy to pull of that much silver, but girlfriend worked it.

Our second choice for the evening is Miss Natalie Portman, who is nearly impossible not to love and also walked away a winner (for Best Actress...dare we say she has an Oscar in her near future?). Portman has been repeatedly attempting to hide her baby bump this awards season and we think this is her best look yet. For the evening she wore a simple, black-and-white Gianfranco Ferre column dress.

[Sidenote: This has us all giddy for Golden Globe/Oscar fashion. Eek!]

Gents

Oh, Ryan Gosling, how we love you AND your style. Gosling broke out the big guns last night in a purple Ferragamo brocade jacket with velvet collar. Needless to say, we think he totally rocked it. While Blue Valentine didn't pick up an award for the evening, we still have hope.

Another stylish male, John Legend, stepped up his fashion game in a shiny Gucci suit with patterned tie. Impressive showing, gents. Very impressive.

Emma Stone Goes Blonde

The famous redhead and star of soon-to-release Easy A, Emma Stone, has recently traded in her festively colorful locks for a new look: blonde! Though she did it for her new role in the upcoming Spider-Man flick, we must say we don't hate it and it partially inspires us to be a little crazy with our hair for the new year.

Thoughts?

Movie Review: Easy A

Do you want your life to resemble an '80s movie? If so, you have a lot in common with Easy A's Olive (Emma Stone)... and us. This film hits teen comedy on the nail and is loaded with terrific lines. No one's winning any Oscars here, but we guarantee this film will be entertaining people for generations (think Clueless). We just love seeing the adorable Penn Badgley in that boy-who-noticed-you-when-no-one-else-did role (see John Tucker Must Die) not to mention the film's borrowing from one of the most underrated comedies of the 2000s, Saved. If you can't catch Easy A in theaters, definitely rent it on a future night in.
Best on-screen moment: Just about anytime there were blatant John Hughes references because, let's face it, the guy was brilliant. [And it must be said that the "Pocketful of Sunshine" solo was to die for.]
